In recent times, this has afforded her the opportunity to visit even lands as far as Eorzea, a realm fresh to her foreign eyes.โง ๐
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Having been raised within a clan whose claim to fortune is founded upon a prolific fishing trade, Kanna adores just that: fishing. She does not stray from bodies of water as a habit, and thus her traveling paths often stick close to them. Strapped to her back, one will always find her venturing along with her bamboo fishing rod, something she'd crafted with her siblings many years ago. It has been carefully maintained since.โง ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Though the clan in which she belongs to has indeed earned a reputation for being a group of free-spirited individuals, Kanna takes that aspect a step further. She is not shy to spend coin on fine dining or lavish garments and accessories, participating in activities to sate curiosity or satisfaction, and generally indulging in luxury whensoever the urge beckons to her. Her most favored metal to wear is gold, and she will often be sighted wearing jewelry and adornments fashioned from it.

Despite this fact sitting ever-present in the back of her mind, she cannot seem to quell her adventurer's spirit and therein lies a predicament: she does not want to quit now. Not even soon. Her time is her own and she is taking it into her grasp to explore both herself and the nations beyond Hingashi.

โง ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ While it is true that the Ayugai rose to their position through sheer willpower, even they could not manage to keep their hands unbloodied. Some years past, they formed a bond of a sort with the Confederacy, exchanging ships and rations for the freedom to traverse the expanse of the Ruby Sea unbothered. Some Ayugai took that bond a step further, though, and have participated in the Confederacy's endeavors whensoever the fancy struck them.

While the Ayugai can claim a humble beginning in the southwestern riverscapes of Hingashi, their masterful knowledge of ichthyology and profitable fishing methods saw its members climb into the upper echelons of society. Moreover, their members are impressive shipwrights. They are well-known for their ability to construct durable boats, both large and small, that are used to navigate in and around the island nations of Hingashi.Aside from what trades they participate in, the Ayugai themselves have earned the reputation amongst their fellows that they are both competitive and stubborn individuals, often doing whatsoever they think is best to preserve the prosperity of the clan. However, do not let that be entirely interpreted as intimidating. Once an Ayugai is made a friend, they are proven to be loyal and steadfast companions.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐โฆ The ocean is a treasure to the Ayugai; not only is their way of life centered around it, but it is also an eternal entity, living and breathing just as they are. Thus, they ensure all beaches that they visit are kept clean of debris and they are careful to not overfish in areas that they source their catch from. In addition to the ocean, the Ayugai are also fond of rivers and lakes and treat them with identical respect.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Regard even strangers as you would familyโthat is one of many tenets that Kanna had been raised to uphold. Despite the brusque, bullheaded nature that the Ayugai exude, they are not without a measure of propriety. They will often provide assistance to those in need of it.๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Life is to be lived as the Ayugai see fit; within reason, of course. While they carry no desire to harm or impede their fellow countrymen, do not expect them to fully heed the nuances of noble society. They will play whatever games that are presented to them as needed, but they are yet all individuals with strong personalities.

๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ From the very first days of the clan's inception, the Ayugai were born fishers. Their start did not find itself on saltswept shores, though. Rather, they found their mastery by way of catching sweetfish from Hinganshi's plentiful rivers and thereafter peddling them to local vendors. As demand rose, the Ayugai later constructed a fishery dedicated to sweetfish as a more sustainable method to meet needs.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Well-constructed, sturdy ships can be difficult to come by, especially for a reasonable price. When sailing, you most certainly do not want a poorly crafted vessel. When Kanna's great-grand father experienced that sort of situation personally some years past, he sought to make his own boats. From then on, the Ayugai became shipwrights and, sensing profit to be made, eventually began selling them as well.

๐๐๐๐โฆ The crest of the Ayugai clan is based on the iconic eyes of its members: deep black irises, stark silver limbal rings. All members borne of the Ayugai bloodline possess these ocular traits.๐๐๐๐โฆ Sea-green; that is how the Ayugai would describe their skintone even if it is not quite that color. In truth, the hue leans closer to sage.๐๐๐๐โฆ The straight, silken strands of the Ayugai are colored from a range of gray-green to emerald green.๐๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Ivory and lustrous, the scales belonging to the Ayugai are diligently cared for to preserve their health.๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐๐๐๐๐โฆ The horns of an Ayugai clan member are usually thin and tapered, and their tails often complement them in appearance.๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐๐๐๐๐โฆ Both their teeth and their claws are markedly sharp, and they are maintained to be so in order to disable prey in the absence of tools.๐๐๐๐๐โฆ As a clan so closely related to water, the Ayugai have, through the years, developed an increased lung capacity in order to store and compress large amounts of oxygen. With this, they are able to be submerged within water for an extended period of time.
